OPEN POSITIONS:

 

DATABASE AND APPLICATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

 

The full-time position of Database and Application Systems Specialist reports to the CTO / Director of IT Services and is responsible for supporting the enterprise application systems utilized by the college and for servicing the community needs for information and system functionality.   This includes business systems analysis and support, database administration, information analysis and reporting, customized programming, and vendor relationship management for product assessments, implementations, and problem resolution.  This position, in conjunction with other IT colleagues, is accountable for the availability, reliability, and integrity of the enterprise information systems and data.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business systems analysis, application design and development, database administration, or related field.  Minimum of 8 years of experience in database and application programming/analysis utilizing relational database technology.Minimum of 5 years of experience in SQL Server database analysis and administration.Solid understanding of application architectures, database architecture, .net application framework, IIS, web interfaces, and network systems. Experience with ETL processes and data migration tools.  SSIS experience highly desirable. Experience with SSRS and other report writing tools. Experience with MS Access software and database structures. Experience implementing and supporting student information systems, preferably Sungard’s PowerCampus and Self-Service, in a higher education environment. Experience with PowerFAIDs financial aid system, Nelnet Quikpay systems, Great Plain financial system, Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge fund raising system - highly desirable. Effective project management skills.  PMP certification preferred. Excellent debugging and problem solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with staff and faculty at all levels of the organization is essential.

DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL AID

 

Landmark currently seeks a Director of Financial Aid in the Office of Enrollment Management, reporting to the Vice President. The Director is responsible for the operational and fiscal administration of a two person Financial Aid Office.  The Director assists the Vice President with developing/implementing financial aid strategies, policies, and procedures serving College goals and establishes/maintains a service-orientated financial aid delivery and counseling model. The Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state and institutional guidelines and serves as the liaison between the Office of Financial Aid and the College’s internal and external community. Works closely with the Admissions Office to facilitate student enrollment and the Business Office to ensure timely and accurate student financial data. The Director also develops communications, including web communications/applications detailing the financial aid process and external funding opportunities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred, requires knowledge of financial aid requirements/regulations in higher ed. Must self-direct the work flow and organize priorities to meet deadlines using independent judgment. We seek a customer-service oriented, hands-on manager who enjoys working with students with learning differences, and counseling their families, in a transformational learning environment. Requires excellent oral, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Must have strong computer skills (including Powerfaids, and a commitment to confidentiality.

Activity Coordinator
($3,600 includes housing and meal plan)(June16-July 25)

 

The Activity Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of coordinating, hiring, facilitating and executing weekday activities for students from 3:00-5:30 including assistance with supplies, keys, room furniture requests, etc. The AC will also serve as the primary daytime coordinator for all communication and coordination between the Student Affairs and Academic program. The primary work hours for this position are between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and serve as needed on weekends. Training for professional staff occurs two weeks before the program start date. Training for paraprofessional staff occurs one week before the program start date. Administrative work continues until the Wednesday after the students depart.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the equivalent of 80-100 hours of planning and development work in preparation for the program execution.
  • Hire staff and develop daily and weekly program staffing schedules.
  • Plan, facilitate, and attend mandatory training for the Student Affairs Team. Plan & facilitate the training program for para-professional Student Affairs staff (Resident Assistants, Program Assistants and Night Proctors).
  • Participate in all registration and orientation activities for students in the program.
  • Assist the activity staff in managing the logistical needs for the weekday activities, including room preparation and access, supplies and other needs.
  • Manage and distribute the master roster for activity participation.
  • In collaboration with the Night & Weekend Coordinator, develop and coordinate three weekday evening programs, including the end-of-program celebration.
  • Assist in the hiring of the para-professional staff.
  • As part of the Student Affairs Team, provide operational oversight of the High School program of up to 140 students in two residence halls. Provide direct supervision for the Program Assistant staff.
  • Provide negotiation, problem identification and problem-solving options and skills for students. Provide mediations for conflict among students.
  • Serve as an on-call back-up administrator for the duration of the program. Respond to emergency or other crisis situations that occur.
  • Maintain appropriate communication and information channels with the Associate Dean of Students & Director of Summer Programs; keeping them informed of all program concerns both through formal and informal communication.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with students enrolled in the program and staff.
  • Manage the oversight of student participation in activities on and off campus and attendance of students in activities.
  • Enforce regulations of the HS program, including curfews.
  • Serve as a role model for all students and reporting staff on campus.
  • Participate in post-program evaluation sessions with program staff.
  • Provide other duties as appropriate and assigned by supervisors.

Resident Director
($3,600 includes housing and meal plan)(June16-July 25)

 

The Resident Director (RD) is responsible for providing supervision to para-professional residential staff, coordination with other departments (health services and activities), managing operational systems in the program and providing direct support to students as needed. The primary work schedule for this position is in the afternoon through night. The work schedule will include days off for staff members. Training for professional staff occurs two weeks before the program start date. Training for paraprofessional staff occurs one week before the program start date. Administrative work continues until the Wednesday after the students depart.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Attend mandatory training and planning meetings for Resident Directors.
  • Plan & facilitate the training program for para-professional Student Affairs staff (Resident Assistants, Program Assistants and Night Proctors).
  • Oversee the preparation of the residence halls for student arrival & residency; participate in all registration and orientation activities for students in the program.
  • As part of the Student Affairs Team, provide operational oversight of the High School program of approximately 140 students in two residence halls. Provide direct    supervision for the Resident Assistant staff.
  • Provide negotiation, problem identification and problem-solving options and skills for students. Provide mediations for conflict among students.
  • Consult and coordinate with Counseling & Health Services staff, as needed.
  • As part of the Student Affairs Team, supervise all weekend activities (on and off campus)
  • Serve in the rotating duty schedule and respond to emergency or other crisis situations that occur.
  • Maintain appropriate communication and information channels with the Associate Dean of Students & Director of Summer Programs; keeping them informed of all residential   concerns both through formal and informal communication.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with students enrolled in the program and staff.
  • Manage the oversight of student participation in activities on and off campus and attendance of students in residence halls and activities as well as building access.
  • Enforce regulations of the HS program, including curfews. Report maintenance issues in student rooms & in common areas.
  • Serve as a role model for all students and reporting staff on campus.
  • Participate in post-program evaluation sessions with program staff.
  • Provide other duties as appropriate and assigned by supervisors.


Resident Assistant
($2,500 includes housing and meal plan)(June23-July 25)

 

The Resident Assistant (RA) is responsible for providing direction and support to students in the residence halls and during out-of-classroom activities. RAs also provide support and assistance to the Resident Directors. The primary work hours for this position are between 3:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. The work schedule will include days off for staff members.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Attend mandatory training for Resident Assistants occurring one week before the program begins.
  • Assist in planning and preparing the residence halls for student’s arrival & residency; participate in all registration and orientation activities for students in the program.
  • Assist in the oversight of the Residence Hall; manage and oversee a residential wing of approximately 25 students on a rotating basis; including personal contact and wing/hall meetings. Hold wing meetings as directed. Perform rotating duty shifts and attend all appropriate staff meetings.
  • Provide negotiation, problem identification and problem-solving options and skills for students. Provide mediations for conflict among students.
  • Respond to emergency or other crisis situations that occur.
  • Maintain appropriate communication and information channels with Professional Staff; keeping them informed of all residential concerns both through formal and informal communication.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with students enrolled in the program and abide by all policies outlined in the staff handbook.
  • Oversee student participation in activities on and off campus (including weekends) and monitor attendance of students in residence halls and activities as well as building access.
  • Enforce regulations of the High School program, including curfews. Report maintenance issues in student rooms & in common areas.
  • Create & facilitate social programs in the residence halls.
  • Serve as a role model.
  • Participate in post-program evaluation sessions with program staff.
  • Provide other duties as appropriate and assigned by supervisors.

Program Assistant
($1,800 includes housing and meal plan)(June23-July 25)

 

The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting nursing, faculty and residential staff’s with supporting and serving students in the high school program. Program Assistants will also go through training the week prior to the program to prepare them for the program. The primary work hours for this position are between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Attend mandatory training occurring one week before the program begins.
  • Assist in planning and preparing the residence halls for student’s arrival & residency; participate in all registration and orientation activities for students in the program.
  • Assist Medications Nurse with locating students who have missed their scheduled medication.
  • Assist students with wake up and being on time for meds and morning classes.
  • Assist faculty by locating students who are late to class.
  • Assist administrators transport students to off-campus locations on an on-call basis.
  • Monitor residence halls during lunch break.
  • Respond to emergency or other crisis situations that occur.
  • Maintain appropriate communication and information channels with Professional Staff; keeping them informed of all residential concerns both through formal and informal communication.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with students enrolled in the program and abide by all policies outlined in the staff handbook.
  • Enforce regulations of the HS program.
  • Serve as a role model.
  • Participate in post-program evaluation sessions with program staff.
  • Provide other duties as appropriate and assigned by supervisors.


Night Proctor
($1,000 includes housing and meal plan)(June23-July 25)

 

The Night Proctor is responsible for monitoring the residence halls for the Summer High School Program during the overnight shift and providing assistance to student and staff as necessary. Night proctors will also go through training the week prior to the program to prepare them for the program. The primary work hours for this position are between 11:30 p.m.-7:30 a.m.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Attend mandatory training, occurring one week before the program begins.
  • Participate in all registration and orientation activities for students in the program.
  • Monitor residence halls on a continuous basis between 11:30 p.m.-7:30 a.m. This includes making frequent rounds of the building.
  • Provide assistance to students as necessary, calling in other program and College staff as appropriate.
  • Uphold program guidelines, regulations and policies.
  • Respond to emergency or other crisis situations that occur.
  • Maintain appropriate communication and information channels with Night & Weekend Coordinator; keeping them informed of all residential concerns both through formal and informal communication.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with students enrolled in the program and abide by all policies outlined in the staff handbook.
  • Enforce regulations of the HS program.
  • Serve as a role model.
  • Participate in post-program evaluation sessions with program staff.
  • Provide other duties as appropriate and assigned by supervisors.

Student Weekday Activity Instructor
(stipend, housing and meal plan)

 

The Weekday Activities Instructors are responsible for providing leading and instructing students in afternoon activities. The primary work hours for this position are between 3:30pm and 5:30pm during the assigned weekdays. This is roughly a four week commitment. Actual activity instruction will occur the weeks of July 2nd, 9th, and 16th. These positions are also available to Landmark students participating in college summer sessions but not taking afternoon classes. The final list of activities requiring instruction will be determined by the qualifications and skills of those instructors selected.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Attend mandatory orientation for Weekday Activities Instructors.
  • Lead and instruct students during afternoon activities.
  • Referring students to appropriate resources as needed.
  • Work with the Student Affairs Team; Associate Dean, Coordinators, RDs, RAs, PAs, and others.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with students enrolled in the program.
  • Serve as a role model.
  • Participate in post-program evaluation session.
  • Provide other duties as appropriate and assigned by supervisors.
